Indefinido, imperfecto or perfecto?

• Indefinido: one finished event (ayer, el lunes, en 2020) → Llegó a las ocho.
• Imperfecto: background, duration, habit (antes, siempre, mientras) → Hacía frío y llovía.
• Perfecto (haber + participle): unfinished period or link with now (hoy, esta semana, nunca, ya) → Este año he viajado mucho.

Together: Leía (background) cuando sonó el teléfono (event). Participles: hablado, comido; irregular: hecho, dicho, visto, escrito, puesto, vuelto, abierto.
