Verbs like “gustar”

Pattern: (a + person) + indirect pronoun + verb agreeing with the thing.

for emphasispronounverb
(a mí)megusta el café / leer
gustan los libros
(a ti)te
(a él / ella / usted)le
(a nosotros)nos
(a vosotros)os
(a ellos / ellas / ustedes)les

With one or more infinitives, the verb stays singular: Me gusta leer y escribir.

“a mí” never replaces the pronoun: A mí me gusta (not “a mí gusta”). With a noun you also need both: A mi hermano le gusta el fútbol. — My brother likes football.

To react, don't say “yo también”: Me gusta. — A mí también. / No me gusta. — A mí tampoco. — Neither do I. To disagree: A mí sí. / A mí no.
