Plural: add -s (chat → chats); -al → -aux (cheval → chevaux), -eau → -eaux; words in -s, -x, -z don't change.
Adjectives agree in gender and number: un homme grand, une femme grande, des hommes grands, des femmes grandes. Special feminines: heureux → heureuse, actif → active, bon → bonne, beau → belle.
Most adjectives go after the noun; a few short ones before: beau, bon, grand, petit, jeune, vieux, nouveau (une petite maison).
