una sílaba: cheap (barato)	cheaper (than)	the cheapest
terminado en -e: nice	nicer	the nicest
una vocal + consonante: big, hot	bigger, hotter	the biggest
dos sílabas en -y: happy, easy	happier, easier	the happiest
dos sílabas o más: expensive (caro)	more expensive	the most expensive
good / well (bueno / bien)	better	the best
bad / badly (malo / mal)	worse	the worst
far (lejos)	further / farther	the furthest
much / many — little	more — less	the most — the least

than (que) tras un comparativo: Zurich is bigger than Bern (Zúrich es más grande que Berna). Tras «than», pronombre complemento o frase completa: taller than me / taller than I am (más alto que yo).
Igualdad: as … as (tan … como): She's as tall as her father. — not as / not so … as: It's not as cold as yesterday (no hace tanto frío como ayer).
Progresión: more and more expensive (cada vez más caro), bigger and bigger. Paralelo: The more you practise, the better you speak (cuanto más practicas, mejor hablas).
Matizar: much / far / a lot cheaper (mucho más barato), a bit / slightly cheaper (un poco más barato). the same as (igual que), different from (distinto de), like (como).
Superlativo + in para lugares y grupos, of para periodos: the tallest building in the world (el edificio más alto del mundo), the best day of my life (el mejor día de mi vida).
